Daily Walks (Noticing – June 30th, 2012)
Back when I really dove into photography, I tried to get out every day to practice, like a musician. This habit fell away though; before I made the full time jump I was just too busy to keep at it, and after I was just too busy running the business. We’re four months in now, things are going well and we’re beginning to really settle in.
I’ve been thinking this last week how I miss my practicing, my time spent noticing, and now that things aren’t so hectic I’ve also made a regular habit of walking first thing in the morning. I thought it would be fun to start a small thing on this blog, to carry my camera with me in the mornings and post an image of things I notice during the walk. No promises, as the business ebbs and flows I’m sure there will be days when I can’t get to it. I’ll certainly give it a good go though.
So here’s the first one. We’ve had quite a lack of rain here in Central Indiana this summer, and this dry spell was finally broken with thunderstorms that came through yesterday and this morning at 4AM. I couldn’t sleep through the lightning and thunder and it was with a foggy brain that I saw this leaf over a wet crack that looked like a bolt of lightning.
